Hi,
I know you are very busy but I would urge you to take a couple of minutes to read this introductory note. From our discussions with Risk professionals at all levels and others who work alongside them, the research we would love you to play a part in is potentially important to the success of current and future Risk leaders.
At the Institute of Operational Risk, we are talking every day to members and contacts about talent in the Risk and Compliance market. One particular topic that comes up again and again (and usually sparks a fascinating discussion) is the unique nature of leading in a risk role and what makes a successful risk leader – and, importantly, how might that change over the next few years as the risk landscape develops in the wake of the technological revolution.
We believe that being a successful risk leader requires some different skills and behaviours to other leaders in an organisation – as well as having been through some quite different experiences in their career to operate effectively. Rather than continuing to just talk about it, we have decided to look into this in more detail and to carry out some original research. We have teamed up with Adam Appointments – a business focused solely on ‘corporate governance’ recruitment – and some like-minded consultants from O.R. Talent – a talent consultancy that has helped assess and develop thousands of leaders in companies around the world over the past 12 years – to carry out a programme of research activity.
At the heart of the research is getting the informed views of Risk professionals (both permanent and contractors), central to that is our survey. We need as many of you to take 15-20 minutes to complete this survey (at your desk on a PC or on the go on your mobile/tablet) to make the research valuable.
Please click the link below to take you to the survey …

If you have any questions please get in touch with Dougie McAndrew at Adam Appointments at dougie@adamappointments.co.uk. We are keeping the survey open until Friday 1st June 2018, so please take the time to contribute – we are very grateful. We may contact you again during this period to give you the best chance to make your contribution. The survey is anonymous.
Our commitment to you is that, in return for your participation, we will share the findings in an executive summary and invite you to an online session where we will discuss our findings in more depth.
Thanks again for your support.
Regards
Institute of Operational Risk
